Thank you, Lee. I think by now Happiness to me is the ability to really be in – and appreciate – the present moment. Everything seems to be tied into that skill; from enjoying a beautiful mountain view, to being totally focused on studying knowledge work, to smiling at a stranger. All give me the knowledge that who I am becomes incrementally better when they happen – and that makes me happy!
My wife is such a treasure. Each year she puts together our “Christmas letter” which highlights the events that have transpired over the year. While I to have wondered where the year has gone, the letters are a wonderful reminder of how full our life has been and all that we have been blessed to accomplish, particularly with family. I like the suggested perspective or look back upon a year in celebration of all that we have accomplished. The Christmas letter are a great medium for doing that, particularly as I am reminded that we had to edit out many memorable events in order to keep our letter down to two pages. Oh what an awesome year was 2013.
